Integrated Food Projects help VION take 5 ‘S’ to the extreme

VION Food UK turned to IFP when one of their production sites suffered a major fire. The resulting actions taken after discussions with insurers involved the complete demolition and clearance of the affected facilities to generate a site which was to be prepared to construction standards and ready for future use. IFP were tasked with achieving this and adopted a project delivery solution which focussed on the need to safe guard VION’s on-going production operations. Prior to the demolition and clearance of some 18,000 square metres of food production space, a detailed exercise needed to be carried out to assess the impact of the demolition on a complex array of existing site services. This led to the need to SORT and re-configure the high voltage ring mains, gas and water services which were routed across the 32 acre site.  IFP SET a strategy to focus close attention on the enabling activities to protect the on-going operations and ensure that production was not affected or interrupted during the work. Appointment of the right contractor to undertake the demolition was key and was achieved through a tendering process with A R Demolition (ARD) from Nuneaton winning the contract.Their appointment has led to a close collaborative relationship between VION, IFP and ARD which has enabled the end result to SHINE. The delivery solution is one of a number of STANDARDISED approaches which IFP can apply to other complex and challenging projects.  Once again IFP has SUSTAINED its track record for delivering project solutions to the food industry Within Budget and To Programme.
